The 50-share NSE Nifty gained 76.90 points at 10,577.80 while the Nifty Midcap rose 0.55 percent.
About 1,337 shares advanced against 833 declining shares on the BSE.
Wholesale Price Index inflation eased to 2.84 percent in January, from 3.58 percent in previous month. It was also lower than a CNBC-TV18 poll estimates of 3.13 percent.
