Benchmark indices extended their gains from the previous hour, with the Nifty reclaiming 9600.
The Sensex was up 128.13 points at 31156.34, while the Nifty was up 22.80 points at 9617.90. The market breadth was negative though as 910 shares advanced against a decline of 1,653 shares, while 158 shares were unchanged.
HDFC, ITC, and Cipla were the top gainers, while Sun Pharma, Adani Ports, and Tech Mahindra lost the most.
